Meet the Author

I’d always been drawn to storytelling, either reading it or writing it. I remember making up stories in middle and high school. I had a million notebooks of handwritten fiction, and my friends would read weekly updates like my own personal newsletter.

Once I started ‘adulting,’ I stopped reading for years. Put it aside to be a full-time worker, spouse, and mother. Then my friend gave me a Romantasy recommendation, and I have been hooked on reading once again. But that wasn’t enough anymore. I had a story to tell, and I got to it with a vigor that I thought had died long ago.

Everyone asks, “What inspired you to write this book?” Well, I’m going to be honest, I don’t know. Or at least, I don’t remember. But I’ll tell you why I stayed. Why I spent hours upon hours writing and revising this manuscript. Because after a conversation about Tropes with my husband, I realized I wrote a book in my love language—acts of service. I wrote a book where the characters fall in love quietly, where they both grieve and have deep flaws. Where they battle with their self-worth, depression, and anxiety. I wrote a book that let me spew all the things I was feeling and turn them into something beautiful. Completing this work was extremely cathartic for me, and I hope it can be healing for someone else, too.
